Central Illinois High School Art Show

 

The School of Art & Creative Media unites Millikin University's distinguished Art Department with the rapidly expanding Arts Technology and Administration Department. Our multidisciplinary approach gives students the benefits of traditional artistic practice across several mediums and the skills to craft creative media projects using innovative technologies. The School of Art and Creative Media hosts multiple exhibitions of guest artists and student artists, film premiers, and technology showcases each year. Our student-run arts businesses host additional pop up exhibitions, speaker series, competitions and other programming on campus and downtown at our Blue Connection gallery as well as provides creative media services to businesses and organizations in the community.

      Art, B.A.

      The Bachelor of Arts degree in Art is designed for the student who wants a well-rounded experience in the visual arts. This program emphasizes a broad-based educational experience that offers flexibility in terms of coursework in the arts.

      The Arts Administration major consists of Performance Learning experiences as well as courses that allow students to build a foundation for a forward thinking career working in the arts.

      Multimedia Communication, B.S., B.A.

      A degree in Multimedia Communication allows students to use a multitude of platforms and technologies to creatively communicate to audiences (to entertain, persuade, or inform). Central to the program is the art of storytelling, digital publishing, and media production.

    Millikin students majoring in arts technology, multimedia communication and beyond showcase a wide range of work representing the convergence of art and technology. From design and photography to interactive media and student-run businesses, the Arts Tech Expo gives artists and communicators from every medium an opportunity to display their efforts.
