Millikin University Blood Drive returns to campus on May 5

The event is hosted by Alpha Phi Omega and the Long-Vanderburg Scholars Program

DECATUR, Ill. – The Alpha Phi Omega fraternity and Long-Vanderburg Scholars Program will host the annual Millikin University Blood Drive this Friday, May 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Oberhelman Center for Leadership Performance in the University Commons. 

To schedule an appointment, go to redcrossblood.org and search for the sponsor code “Millikin.” All blood types are needed for the drive.

About the Long-Vanderburg Scholars Program

The Long-Vanderburg Scholars Program recognizes high scholastic achievement among underrepresented students with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, leadership and community service.

The L-V Scholars Program is named in honor of Millikin's first two African-American graduates, Fred Long and Marian Vanderburg. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years if the student maintains a 3.2/4.0 cumulative GPA and actively participates in the program.
