“Restorative justice is a way to achieve meaningful peace and resolution between victims, offenders and the community through various forms of mediation and conflict resolution,” Millikin Department of Sociology Associate Professor Dr. Ken Laundra said. “As in the case of wartime atrocities in such places as South Africa and Rwanda, this approach offers the means to repair relationships on a mass scale while affording a greater sense of justice and reconciliation for victims.”

The keynote address will be given by Dr. Pavlo Fedorchenko-Kutuev, Chair of the Department of Sociology & Law at KPI, who researches modernization, the historical sociology of the developmental state and the comparative politics of post-communist states.
