The College of Fine Arts annually awards a number of scholarships to prospective students who are pursuing studies in Arts Administration. These awards are based on talent and/or academic achievement and are renewed each year a student remains enrolled in the College of Fine Arts.
To apply for the College of Fine Arts Scholarship in Arts Administration, you must:
- Be admitted to Millikin University as an incoming Arts Administration major.
- Submit the scholarship application.
Admitted students can submit their application on their myVIP page. - Write Your Professional Statement
Write your essay- In 750 words or less, please answer the following prompt: “What do you hope to gain from the Arts Administration program and how will you use it after graduation?”
- Polish Your Materials
Dust off your resume and get it ready to go. If you would like to submit a portfolio of administrative work, you are welcome to do that as well. - Prepare For The Interview
We want to know about YOU. We will ask a variety of behavior-based questions to get to know you better i.e. “Tell me about a time that you were in charge of something?” or “Tell me about a time that you had to work on something that you had no experience with, what did you do?” Interviews are a two way street, this is just as much about us getting to know you as it is you getting to know us. If you have questions during the interview, please ask them!
Additional Tips:
- There are 5 concentrations available in the Arts Administration major. Students are encouraged to tailor their professional statement to one of those concentrations: (Theatre Administration, Art Administration, Music Administration, Dance Administration, Arts Technology Administration)
- If you have participated in an arts club or related group, please mention that in the online form.
