Since 2007 the Millikin School of Theatre and Dance has been developing an innovative program known as the New Musicals Workshop. A quintessential example of Performance Learning, the New Musicals Workshop offers students and faculty opportunities to collaborate with professional writing teams as they develop new musicals intended for commercial production.
The London semester was designed specifically for students wanting a Millikin experience abroad. This life-changing adventure features a three-day school week leaving four-day weekends for travel and exploration. Courses are designed to offer a variety of experiences, all of which fulfill curricular requirements in all majors.
Founded in 2010 by the Center for Entrepreneurship and the Department of Theatre and Dance, Pipe Dreams is comprised of and completely run by Millikin students with a passion for the performing arts. Facilitated by Assistant Professor of Theatre Sara Theis and run by 15-20 students, Pipe Dreams offers a full season of performance experiences in musical theatre and drama annually.
