Long-Vanderburg Scholars: Celebrations of Scholarship

2025 Celebrations of Scholarship Presentations Listed Below

The Long-Vanderburg (LV) Scholars Program honors the first two African American graduates of Millikin University, Fred Long and Marian Vanderburg. It is an honors program that provides historically underrepresented students and those committed to social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion with the opportunity to uphold and contribute to Long and Vanderburg’s legacy of academic excellence at Millikin. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary study, as well as service, leadership and civic responsibility through both curricular and co-curricular activities.

During Celebrations of Scholarship, LV Scholars present original research that explores their position in society, their every-growing leadership ethos, their professional creeds and their development as citizen-scholars. Please join them as they showcase what it means to be Long-Vanderburg Scholars at Millikin University!
