Wait for a Decision

Once you've applied and have sent in all of the application requirements, we will begin reviewing your information. The Office of Admission will contact you, whether you've been admitted or not.

October 2025

Submit the FAFSA (domestic students)

File your 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with Millikin’s school code: 001724. Submitting a FAFSA ensures that you’re considered for all financial aid opportunities, including institutional scholarships and all forms of federal and state aid. Apply for Scholarships

You must first be admitted before you can apply for scholarships. Most scholarship deadlines are January 15 (first-year students) and April 1 (transfer students). Scholarship applications are available on your myVIP page.

December 2025

Housing Applications open Dec. 1

All students are required to complete a Housing Application, if planning to live on campus, or an Off-Campus Petition if planning to commute from home. Lottery selection of rooms will take place in late Spring. Housing applications will be available on your myVIP page. Learn more about campus housing options at millikin.edu/housing.

January 15, 2026

Scholarship Deadline

This is the deadline to be considered for many of Millikin’s scholarship programs. Information about the programs can be found at millikin.edu/scholarships. Students who are chosen to interview for these programs will be invited to attend Scholarship Interview Day on February 7. 

College of Fine Arts Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, but you must first complete your Millikin application for admission. Visit the individual School pages to see if your program has additional requirements.

February 7, 2026

Scholarship Interview Day

Scholarship Interview Day is a special day for admitted, scholarship-eligible students. Students will receive an invitation to attend.

March 15, 2026

Housing Update: Roomeez opens and setup of roommate groups in eRezLife. Learn more at millikin.edu/housing-selection.

March 28, 2026

Admitted Student Day

Attend Admitted Student Day, which provides a glimpse into life as a Millikin student. Discover more about your field of study or any other area of academic interest by attending sample classes led by Millikin's passionate, experienced faculty. Eat lunch in our new University Commons, connect with students across 75 clubs and organizations, get to know Millikin's campus and more.

April 30, 2026

Deadline to make final changes to Housing Application and roommate groups.

May 1, 2026

Advance Tuition Deposit Refund

Advance Tuition Deposits are credited toward tuition and are refundable until May 1.

Housing lottery opens

June 2026

Housing assignments begin going out

Housing assignments are assigned based on the date you are admitted and submitted your Housing Application. Students who did not participate in the housing lottery will be assigned rooms via auto-placement in eRezLife.

Submit final high school and college transcripts

If you are currently enrolled in high school, you must submit official copies of your final transcripts to the Office of Admission. Late transcripts can complicate registration, financial aid and payment for your first semester. 

Finalize your financial plan

To pay for education, many families use resources beyond the awards offered on the Financial Aid Award letter. Learn more about these resources on our Financial Aid page.

Attend an Orientation Day

Plan now to attend one in-person Orientation Day, where you will connect with Campus Life as well as hear about financial aid, health and safety, academic support and campus employment. Orientation Days will take place June through August.

July 1, 2026

Millikin email becomes the primary email for incoming students. Begin checking your Millikin email every day!

July 2026

Receive your roommate assignment and move-in date

Students planning to live on campus will begin receiving roommate and room assignment notifications. Visit the FAQs page for more information.

August 2026

Submit payment by Aug. 1

You must either pay in full or establish an automated payment plan for any portion of your bill not covered by secured financial aid by August 1. If you register for classes after this date, you’ll have seven calendar days to establish payment arrangements. Visit our Payment Options page for more information.

Move-In Days: August

The Office of Campus Life will send essential information about move-in dates and times to your Millikin email. If you have additional questions after reviewing the emails, please call 217.362.6410. 

Attend Welcome Week

Welcome Week is where you'll be introduced to the Millikin experience. You'll learn about student organizations, studying abroad, internships, athletics and many more programs and services that support your academic goals and personal development.
