2021-2022 scholarship recipient!

Application Requirements

To be eligible for the Millikin/Broadway Dreams Scholarship, applicants must have participated in a Broadway Dreams intensive in the last 4 years.  In addition, applicants must apply to and be accepted by the Millikin University Office of Admission.  Upon acceptance, a short application and essay are required for consideration for the Millikin/Braodway Dreams Scholarship.  The online scholarship application link will be sent to you once we have received your audition materials.  Your essay may be copied and pasted into the text box provided and should respond to the following prompt: What is it about a Millikin degree specifically that you feel will aid you in developing your unique artistic voice and reaching your career goals? Your essay should be 250-400 words.

Audition Requirements

Applicants will have the option to audition in person or by digital submission.  In-person auditions are held on our campus and in Chicago.  Those wishing to audition in person should contact our Audition Coordinator once they have been accepted to Millikin by the Office of Admission.  A list of audition dates can be found on our Audition and Interview Information page.  Applicants who elected to submit a digital audition may use either the Common Musical Theatre Pre-Screen requirements or use the Millikin Audition guidelines found on our Audition Requirements page.  If you plan to audition for our BFA Acting program, please follow the guidelines listed on the Audition Requirements page.  Those who audition for our BFA Musical Theatre program are automatically considered for our BFA Acting program as well.

Callbacks

In the event that a digital audition does not show our faculty what they need to see, an applicant may receive a callback.  In most cases, the initial materials submitted by applicants offer sufficient information for our faculty to render a decision.  From time to time, however, we may feel we need to see a little more from a student than their initial submission offered.  For the callback, we may ask for another song or monologue, or we may ask a student to submit the same material again making specific adjustments.  Callbacks are only offered to those from whom we wish to see more and are not an indication of any audition outcomes.

Submitting Your Audition Materials

  • The School of Theatre and Dance uses GetAcceptd.com to manage video audition submissions for the Millikin/Broadway Dreams Scholarship.
  • Once admitted to Millikin University, an access code will be sent to you allowing you to upload your audition materials to GetAcceptd.
  • When submitting your materials please be sure to answer all Broadway Dreams related questions on the GetAcceptd application.  Detailed information regarding all submission materials may also be found on our GetAcceptd page.

Please be aware there is a non-refundable $30 fee to upload your audition materials.  To submit audition materials visit www.getacceptd.com/millikin.

Application and Video Submission Deadline

There are 3 required steps to complete the Millikin/Broadway Dreams Scholarship application process:

  • Apply to and be admitted by the Millikin University Office of Admission
  • Submit your audition materials to GetAcceptd.com or attend one of our in-person auditions
  • Submit the short, online scholarship application and essay (a link will be sent to you upon receipt of your audition materials).

The deadline for all these materials is February 11, 2022 - applications received after the February 11th deadline will be considered for admission to our BFA programs, however, the scholarship deadline is firm.

Applications are currently being accepted by our Office of Admission and are evaluated on a rolling basis. We recommend having your application and supporting materials in to the Office of Admission by January 15, 2022 or earlier to allow time to process your materials by the February deadline.  You may apply to Millikin using our online application, (click the Apply button below), or by using the Common App.  Please be aware that materials submitted using the Common App typically take longer to reach our Office of Admission and could delay the decision process.

*Note: Transcripts may take several weeks to reach us. Please plan accordingly and request them early.

Questions about the application or audition process may be directed to our Audition Coordinator, or by calling 217-424-6282
