Adjunct Faculty

Kevin Michael Jones has taught, directed and performed across the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. An advocate for all styles of singing, Kevin has maintained a successful private voice studio for over a decade and is a current member of the voice faculty at Millikin University and Eastern Illinois University. His students and clients have performed on Broadway, in national tours, and in other professional venues around the world. Kevin was one of the inaugural graduates from the Contemporary Commercial Music Voice Pedagogy program at Shenandoah Conservatory (the first master’s degree program in the United States to incorporate dedicated teacher training for commercial music and musical theatre singing techniques alongside traditional classical voice pedagogy). He was also admitted to the D.M.A. Voice Pedagogy program there and completed coursework in multiple areas. Additionally, Kevin holds a B.M. in Vocal Music Education from Millikin University and completed core B.A. Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences coursework at The University of Colorado Boulder. His other professional certifications include Illinois Music Teacher certification, Level III certification in Somatic Voicework™ The Lovetri Method, and a certificate of completion from The Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute.

As a director and music director, Kevin has overseen various performances, ranging from concerts and cabarets to musicals and operas. His songwriting has also been featured in venues across the United States. Notably, he collaborated with Lilly Award-winning director/producer Shakina Nayfack to develop The Craft: The Musical at Musical Theatre Factory in Times Square, New York City. Kevin has also been recognized as an authority on musical theatre and pop/rock vocal repertoire and styles. He is the founder of MusicalTheatreResources.com, a popular musical theatre voice website, and RadioSongsforSingers.com, a prominent pop/rock vocal repertoire website. The two sites have garnered over three million visitors from around the world. Kevin’s articles and resources have been shared by prestigious organizations such as The Voice Foundation, The National Association of Teachers of Singing, Chicago Lyric Opera, and The Australian Voice Association.
