DECATUR, Ill. – Millikin University's most beloved holiday event, Vespers, returns Dec. 7-8, 2024, to Kirkland Fine Arts Center. Performances will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m.
For 65 years, Millikin University's Vespers has signaled the start of the holiday season in Central Illinois with a splendid evening of carols, choirs, and candlelight. The Millikin University Choirs come together for this joyous musical feast. Songs from past centuries combine with familiar carols and arrangements to create an evening of seasonal warmth for the whole family.
This year’s program promises to capture the spirit of the season with a joyous musical feast of choral selections, including classical, choral, modern, gospel, and traditional songs. Limited seating is available, so be sure to reserve your tickets in advance.
Tickets for Vespers are $12-16 and will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at the Kirkland Fine Arts ticket office. Tickets can then be purchased online, over the phone, or in person at the ticket office during regular hours between 12:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Tuesday-Friday.
