Jane graduated from Brazil High School where she was a cheerleader a member of the drama club. She attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, where she met John “Jack” Gary Suter of Decatur, Illinois. Married on September 1, 1962, Jane & Jack celebrated 60 years of marriage. They lived in Godfrey, Alton, Edwardsville, Collinsville, Decatur, and Springfield, Illinois. Jane continued studying Early Childhood Education at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Jane then directed the Westminster Cooperative Preschool at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Springfield and maintained a special connection with children across her life. After retirement, Jane and Jack moved to Naples, Florida. Jane was creative and loved art, particularly enjoying watercolor painting. Jane was active in the Christian Women’s Association, P.E.O., and the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Association. Jane enjoyed bible study, walks with friends, and playing bridge, tennis, and bocce ball.
