Paul Donald Moore, age 92, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 08:40 AM – Sunday, December 3, 2023, at HSHS St John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Paul was born on August 2, 1931, in Cowden, Illinois. His family moved to Decatur, Illinois, in 1943 where he attended Decatur High School and Millikin University. He later earned a Master’s degree from Sangamon State University.
Paul served in the Army and was stationed in the Philippines during the Korean Conflict. He also served in the Peace Corps, volunteering in Ethiopia.
Upon returning home, Paul was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Company as an Engineer, then was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Transportation for 39 years.
