Millikin’s Kirkland Fine Arts Center and the Decatur Park District Present "Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Jr."

DECATUR, Ill. – Millikin University’s Kirkland Fine Arts Center and the Decatur Park District are proud to present a vibrant new retelling of a Disney classic in "Alice in Wonderland, Jr." 

The production, which features young performers from the Decatur community, will have four performances at Kirkland Fine Arts Center on March 21-23, 2025. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased on the Decatur Park District website and at the Kirkland Fine Arts Ticket Office in person or by phone at the Kirkland Ticket Office at (217) 424-6318. The Ticket Office will be open during Millikin’s Spring Break on March 18-21. 

Alice in Wonderland Jr.

The show opens Friday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. and continues with two shows on Saturday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. An afternoon matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, rounds out the performances.  

“Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr.” is a stage adaptation of the 1951 film “Alice in Wonderland” created for school and community theater productions.  

When young Alice discovers herself in a strange world where everything seems upside down, she must find her way home and find herself along the way. As she travels through Wonderland, she encounters all the iconic characters that audiences have come to love, including the ever-tardy White Rabbit, the grinning Cheshire Cat, a cool Caterpillar, the wacky Mad Hatter, and the hot-tempered Queen of Hearts.

"Alice in Wonderland Jr." features Disney favorites such as “The Golden Afternoon,” “The Unbirthday Song” and “Painting the Roses Red,” along with brand-new songs, including music from the 2010 live-action film.  

Whether this is your first experience with Alice or your hundredth, you’ll fall in love again with this timeless story of adventure, imagination, and pure fun!
