Millikin’s Faculty Biennial Exhibition returns to campus throughout February

The exhibition’s opening reception is Thursday, Feb. 6, from 4-6 p.m.

DECATUR, Ill. – The outstanding work of Millikin University’s faculty artists will be on display throughout the month of February in the Perkinson Gallery in the Kirkland Fine Arts Center during the Faculty Biennial Exhibition. 

The exhibition will be on display from Feb. 3-28, 2025, at the Perkinson Gallery. The gallery is free and open to the public Monday - Friday, noon-4:30 p.m.

The exhibition, which happens every two years, will include a mix of painting, design, film, printmaking, and other media, representing their artistic journeys as professional, working artists.

Perkinson Gallery will host the show’s opening reception on Thursday, Feb. 6, from 4-6 p.m.

“Thursday’s event will be a big celebratory event. Faculty will get to show off their work they've been working on,” Professor and Director of the School of Art & Creative Media Jessa Wilcoxen said. “We have faculty that have film, we have design, we have painting, printmaking, and 3-D pieces. It's our chance to shine.”

About Perkinson Gallery

Perkinson Gallery, located within Millikin University's Kirkland Fine Arts Center, is a premier venue for the exhibition of visual art and cultural events in Central Illinois. Perkinson Gallery hosts a wide range of exhibitions that focus on work by professional artists from Illinois and the Midwest, in addition to work by artists with national recognition. The gallery has 2,000 square feet of floor space, with 132 linear feet of wall space. The Gallery also hosts annual student and faculty exhibitions.
