Millikin welcomes actor, writer, and comedian Nick Offerman for 2025 Goodheart event

DECATUR, Ill. – DECATUR, Ill. – Millikin University is pleased to welcome Nick Offerman for the 2025 Goodheart Event on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkland Fine Arts Center. As an actor, author, humorist, musician, and proprietor of a charismatic woodshop, Nick is most recognized for his role as plaid-shirted public servant Ron Swanson on “Parks and Recreation.”

Offerman’s credits include the Emmy award-winning role of Bill in HBO’s “The Last of Us,” Forest in “Devs,” and Karl Weathers in the FX series “Fargo.” 

He has written five New York Times bestselling books, including his latest, “Where the Deer and the Antelope Play” and “The Greatest Love Story Ever Told,” written with his wife, Megan Mullally. 

Recent and upcoming projects include “The Umbrella Academy,” “Death by Lightning,” “Sovereign,” “Civil War,” “Origin,” “Dumb Money,” “The Resort,” “Pam & Tommy,” “A League of Their Own,” and “Making It.”  

He is the voice of Beef Tobin in the FOX animated series “The Great North” and audiobook narrator for Wendell Berry’s latest, “The Need to Be Whole. “In his spare time, Offerman can be found at his woodshop in Los Angeles, where he builds hand-crafted items from wood, ranging from spoons and canoes to ukuleles. 

Ticket & Show Information 

Millikin University students, faculty, staff, and Aramark staff will receive one free ticket with their current Millikin ID that can be picked up beginning Thursday, February 6 at 12 p.m. at the Kirkland Ticket Office. 

Additional tickets may be purchased in person at the Kirkland Ticket Office, Tuesday-Friday, 12 p.m.-4:30 p.m. 

  • --Students may purchase three additional tickets for $20 each.
  • --Faculty and staff may purchase one additional ticket for $20 each. Additional tickets may be purchased for $40 at the Kirkland Ticket Office.   

Millikin University Alumni can purchase two tickets for $20 each. Additional tickets may be purchased for $40. Alumni can purchase tickets at a discounted price in person or by phone at the Kirkland Ticket Office starting Tuesday, February 13, 2025, at 12 p.m. 

If tickets are still available, general public tickets will be available in person or by phone at the Kirkland Ticket Office starting Tuesday, February 20, 2025, at 12 p.m. General public tickets will be available for $40. William Madden, provides Millikin students with free access to outstanding entertainment.
