On June 21, 2022, the North American Tour of the musical “Dear Evan Hansen” kicks off with their first performance in Boise, ID before traveling to more than 30 locations over the next year. Millikin University School of Theatre & Dance alum Anthony Norman, Class of 2015, has been cast to play the title role ‘Evan Hansen,’ in the production. Norman is taking over the role from Stephen Christopher Anthony as the tour enters its fourth year.
Norman earned a BFA in musical theatre and since graduation has starred in Broadway in “The Prom,” the national tour of “Newsies,” various film and regional tour roles and much more. He played Nathan Forde in HBO’s “Mare of Easttown,” which stars Kate Winslet, and Tom Lyons on “Chicago Med.”
The North American Tour of “Dear Evan Hansen” has earned critical and commercial acclaim, along with praise from “The New York Times,” “The Washington Post” and “NBC Nightly News.” “Dear Evan Hansen” has won six Tony Awards, the Grammy® Award and the Olivier Award for Best Musical.
