Margaret Gill Parkinson, 103, died Friday, October 20, 2023, at Luther Oaks in Bloomington, IL.
Born in Decatur, IL on August 9, 1920, to Lowell O. and Helen (Miller) Gill, Margaret graduated from Milliken University in Hospital Dietetics, served her internship at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, and worked as a dietician. She married Thomas Paul Parkinson on December 20, 1947. Tom’s professional life took them to Shreveport, LA, then to Chicago, and finally to Champaign, IL where he became the Director of the University of Illinois Assembly Hall. He died in 1993. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Harriet Wilson, and granddaughter-in-law, Ashley Parkinson.
