JoAnn Beverly Bess, 93, of Hendersonville, passed away on February 20, 2024. She was born in Golden, IL to the late Andrew and Marie Henrichs.
JoAnn received a BA from Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL, and she spent some time in Charlotte, NC before moving to Hendersonville. She was married to the love of her life, Dean R. Bess, for 67 years before his passing in 2018. Before becoming a housewife and mother after her marriage, she was a school teacher. She was also a devoted Methodist and loved her faith.
JoAnn is survived by her children: Melanie Talbot of Saluda, NC, Doug Bess (Mitzi) of Belmont, NC, and Rick Bess (Frances Forbes) of Hendersonville; her grandchildren, Christopher Talbot (Judith) of London, England, and Ansley Rick (Thomas) of Mount Holly, NC; her great-grandson, Jayden Rick of Mount Holly, NC; her step-granddaughter, Leanna Carver of Wilmington, NC; and her sister, Janine Bush of Champaign, IL.
