Jacob Dean Bingaman (Jake) was greeted in Heaven on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the age of 76, following a lengthy battle with a series of debilitating brain bleeds and a brief stay in Imboden Creek Nursing Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11:00 am at Maranatha Church, 555 Imboden Drive, Decatur, IL., pastor Doug Lowery officiating. Visitation will be held at Maranatha Church Monday, May 27, 2024, between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The Family will attend a private burial service. Tanzyus-Logan is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Maranatha Church Missions.
Jake was born in June of 1947, in Decatur, IL., to Adolph & Mary Bingaman. He was the youngest of 4 children, including sister Verna (Ray) Cox of Mt. Zion, brother Jim (Judi) Bingaman of Mobile, AL., and sister Darlene (Dean) Rose of Decatur, but he was the first sibling to step into Heaven. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1965 as Valedictorian of his class, and briefly attended Millikin University. He retired in 2002 as a Senior Programmer after approximately 35 years with Illinois Power and Ameren.
