Dr. James “Jim” Watson

James WatsonDr. Jim Watson joined the Tabor School of Business faculty in 1979 and spent the next three decades doing what he loved most: teaching. His International Business Consulting course was a particular point of pride — a hands-on experience that took students to company headquarters in places like Italy, Zambia, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic to solve real business problems. After retiring in 2007, Dr. Watson couldn’t quite stay away, returning to teach part-time and serving as Interim Dean before stepping back in 2012. He then channeled that same love of learning into tutoring at Brush College and Dennis School. Dr. Watson and his wife, Trish, were also known for opening their home to international and exchange students, building friendships that lasted a lifetime. He passed away April 13, 2026, and is survived by Trish and their two sons, James and Adam.
