DECATUR, Ill. -- To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the construction of the James Millikin Homestead and the 125th anniversary of the founding of Millikin University, Jim Wilkerson, President of the Board of Directors of the James Millikin Homestead, has written and directed a feature-length documentary about James Millikin.
"The Original Big Blue: The Life & Times of James Millikin" will premiere on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Millikin's Albert Taylor Theatre at 6 p.m.
A second matinee show follows on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Albert Taylor Theatre.
Tickets are available for both shows, and proceeds will go toward Millikin and the Homestead. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center Ticket Office, Tuesday through Friday, 12 p.m.-4:30 p.m., and online at millikin.universitytickets.com.
