Carolyn was born in Lafayette, Indiana, her family moved to Decatur, Illinois. She went to Millikin University where she was a Tridelta and received a B.A. in Home Economics in 1957. Carolyn met the love of her life, John, and was married on July 19,1958. They moved to Chicago where she taught at J.Sterling Morton High School in Cicero, Illinois while John was finishing up his medical degree. They then moved to Chicago, Indianapolis, and Detroit while John served in the Army. Finally relocating to Fullerton,California in 1965, Carolyn devoted her life to raising her children and volunteering within the community. She loved playing golf, tennis, cooking ,and gardening as well as planning parties. In her later years, she traveled the world with her husband and friends.
