School of Exercise Science & Sport

Students prepare for graduate studies and careers in exercise, fitness, sport, athletics and physical education. Performance Learning opportunities that combine classroom theory with hands-on experiences are available across all programs — from practicing athletic training with Millikin’s NCAA DIII athletic teams to internships with sport, recreation and athletic organizations. A Master of Athletic Training (MSAT) degree is also available.

    • Exercise Science

      Athletic Training 3+2

      Through a combination of both didactic and practical learning experiences, the program helps students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for success on the Board of Certification (BOC) examination and for success in the field of Athletic Training and related allied health fields.

      Exercise Science

      The new Bachelor of Exercise Science major will provide students two options for degrees. Students who follow the Exercise Science major obtain positions in exercise, fitness, coaching, or go on to graduate school.

      Physical Education

      A Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a Teacher License prepares professionals to teach physical education and coach in a school setting. Millikin offers State of Illinois teaching endorsements in Health Education, Safety and Driver Education, Special Education and English as a Second Language.
