James Millikin Student Leader of the Year
Presented to one student who has excelled in leadership, is involved in a variety of activities, excels academically, and has a strong sense of service and character.
Rising Student Leader Award
- Awarded to a freshman or sophomore leader within a student organization who has not previously held a position on an executive board or to a member who is currently not an executive board member, who has shown active involvement, and the potential to grow into a strong leader.
- Outstanding First, Second, Third, and Fourth Year Long-Vanderburg Scholar
- Awarded to a First year LV Scholar who exhibits high academic performance, leadership, and a commitment to success in the Long-Vanderburg Scholars Program by setting an example in the cohort of Exploring Identity and Societal Expectations.
- Awarded to a second year LV Scholar exhibiting high academic performance, leadership, and a commitment to success in the Long-Vanderburg Scholars Program by setting an example in the cohort of Developing Leaders through Service.
- Awarded to a third year LV Scholar exhibiting high academic performance, leadership, and a commitment to success in the Long-Vanderburg Scholars Program by setting an example in the cohort of Professional Development and Baccalaureate Advancement.
- Awarded to a fourth year LV Scholar exhibiting high academic performance, leadership, and a commitment to success in the Long-Vanderburg Scholars Program by setting an example in the cohort of Demonstrating and Living Scholarship.
Cesar Chavez Award (Student, Faculty, and Staff)
Presented to one student, faculty, and staff member who embodies the message of social justice on campus. Someone who is inclusive and open to all people, as well as someone who is an advocate for those without a voice.
FLEX Student of the Year
Presented to a FLEX student who shows exemplary achievement in the classroom and the FLEX program.
Student Organization Advisor of the Year
Presented to a student organization advisor who has a strong belief in the organization, serves as a role model, encourages the development of responsibility and leadership in students. The recipient must be the current advisor of a student organization.
Greek Woman of the Year
This student has given their time, talent, and treasure to the Greek community, their chapter, and Greek life initiatives and programs. This award is highest Greek individual honor a Millikin Sorority Woman can achieve.
Greek Man of the Year
This student has given their time, talent, and treasure to the Greek community, their chapter, and Greek life initiatives and programs. This award is highest Greek individual honor a Millikin Fraternity Man can achieve.
Small Student Organization of the Year
The Small Student Organization of the Year Award recognizes an organization of under 20 members that has done an exceptional job of embodying the purpose of the organization while supporting Millikin University’s mission.
Large Student Organization of the Year
The Large Student Organization of the Year Award recognizes an organization of over 20 members that has done an exceptional job of embodying the purpose of the organization while supporting Millikin University’s mission.
Most Improved Student Organization of the Year
The Most Improved Student Organization Award recognizes groups which have made improvements over the past year specifically related to membership recruitment, involvement, campus programming, and community service.
Best New Student Organization
Awarded to a student organization that was created during the current academic year or has been on campus as a registered student organization for less than one year and has made a positive impact on campus life at Millikin University.
Community Impact Award
Awarded to a student organization that has engaged all of the Millikin campus and made a difference on Millikin’s campus and/or in the greater Decatur community.
Dean’s Cup Award
Our traveling leadership award and deemed as the ultimate organization award, the Dean’s Cup will be given to a student organization for excellence in campus programming, specifically programming which all groups of students attended. These programs must have been reached and been open to the entire campus community. The student organization nominated must also be actively involved in campus life and have a good rapport with the student body.
Philanthropy Program of the Year
Awarded to the student organization that has increased awareness for a charitable organization and engaged the entire campus in the campaign.
Co-Sponsored Event/Program of the Year
Awarded to student organizations that co-sponsored an outstanding program during the 2018-2019 academic year.
Small Program of the Year
Awarded to a student organization for executing an outstanding program for $500 or less.
Large Program of the Year
Awarded to student organization for executing an outstanding program for $500 or more.
Inclusive Program of the Year
Awarded to a student organization for an outstanding program that engaged the campus around issues of social justice and Diversity.
Best Educational Program of the Year
Awarded to a student organization for an outstanding program that educated the entire campus community on an important topic or issue.
