  • With 24 men’s and women’s sports, Millikin fosters a culture that values academic achievement as highly as competitive success. As a proud member of the NCAA Division III and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), Big Blue student-athletes train with dedicated coaches, compete against strong opponents and grow as leaders and teammates. Millikin’s student-athletes develop the talents and leadership skills that shape success in all areas of their life.

    Athletic Opportunities

    Athletics are a dynamic and defining part of Millikin’s campus culture, with 40% of students participating in athletics. From daily practices and competitive seasons to leadership development and community engagement, student-athletes are deeply involved in campus life. Opportunities extend beyond competition through training, mentoring, service and career-focused experiences that support growth on and off the field. Through a wide range of athletic programs and opportunities, student-athletes at Millikin are continually challenged, supported and shaped for success during their time at the University and beyond.

  • Spirit  

    Cheerleading and the Sapphires dance team deliver year-round programming, including practices, performances, competitions and community events, all designed to enhance school spirit and performance skills. 

    Intramurals 

    Intramural programs offer organized leagues and tournaments in sports like basketball, volleyball, flag football and more, giving all students a chance to compete and engage socially on campus.

    David Navarra has found success at Millikin through his work as a Biology pre-med student and Big Blue Wrestling team member.

  • David J. and Debra C. Rathje Athletic Center 

    The Rathje Athletic Center is a 17,655-square-foot hub for training, strength and conditioning, featuring a fully equipped weight room, cardiovascular equipment, team meeting spaces and locker rooms for multiple sports. It provides student-athletes with the resources and environment to excel in daily practices and overall athletic development.

      Owned and operated by the Decatur Park District, the DISC features 87,000 square feet of space with everything you need for active fun, fitness, and adventure!
