Students must first be accepted to Millikin University before applying to or scheduling an audition with the School of Music. Visit the Audition Requirements page to learn more about audition requirements by instrument/voice and degree program.
Those interested in ensemble participation, but are not pursuing a major or minor in music, should contact Christina Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org for information on scholarship opportunities.
2021-2022 School of Music Audition Dates
- Monday, April 4, 2022
If you prefer to audition virtually, you can make that request when filling out the School of Music Application on your myVIP page. You will be required to submit a YouTube link to your performance video to email@example.com. Once the application is received, you will be contacted to schedule a synchronous Zoom meeting to perform the musical skills evaluation required for your instrument/voice and degree program.
A letter stating the results of your School of Music audition will be sent to your home address approximately 2–3 weeks following your audition date. A separate letter from Student Financial Services summarizing your entire financial aid package (including talent, merit, and/or need-based scholarships) will follow.
School of Music auditions yield a recommendation for a music major commensurate with your career interest and aptitude. The prerequisite musical/technical skills for a major in Performance are the most rigorous.
