Victoria Scrimer is a theatre scholar and practitioner. She received her Ph.D. in theatre and performance studies from the University of Maryland. She is the author of several articles and book chapters on theatre theory and political performance. Most recently, her essay on the performative dimensions of “zombie” democracy will appear in The Figure of the Monster in Global Theatre. Her new book Staging Change: Toward a Theatrical Theory of Activist Performancecritically examines activists’ relationship with dramatic form within a twenty-first century media landscape. Victoria is on the board of the Comparative Drama Conference and currently serves as the co-editor of their annual issue of the journal, Comparative Drama.
