Matt Albrecht (Lighting Designer) is a Lighting Designer and Associate Professor of Theatre at Millikin University. Matt is a proud member and currently the Business Agent of IATSE Local 482 Stagehands. Matt received his B.A. in Theatre from St. Mary's University of MN and his M.F.A. from The University of Wisconsin-Madison (GO Badgers). Matt has had the opportunity to work with Theaters, Amusement parks, and Cruise ships all over the globe. Some of Matt's Design highlights include the Remount of Ocean Music Fest on The Norwegian Cruise ships Prima and VIVA, Conjure the Night at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Assistant Designer for the 150th Anniversary Celebration at Cedar Point, Lucia Di Lammermoor for The Montefeltro Opera Festival in Novafeltria, Italy, as well as numerous theatrical productions. As a professor, Matt worked with his colleague Jana to develop a course called "Designing Disney" in which they bring 16 students to WALT DISNEY WORLD to meet with Disney designers and Imagineers to learn the art of theme park design. In his spare time...which isn't much... Matt can be found enjoying the outdoors or spending time on the lake, at his cabin, or Walt Disney World.
