Margaret Wolfe, soprano, is a versatile performer and educator who hails originally from the Chicago suburbs. Ms. Wolfe holds a BM in Voice Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MM in Voice Performance & Pedagogy from the University of Texas at San Antonio. During her time in school, she most notably appeared as Amore in L’incoronazione di Poppea and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, was named the winner of UTSA’s 2019 Concerto and Aria competition, and served as Student NATS president. In 2021, Ms. Wolfe presented her graduate research entitled “Teacher Attitudes on Vibrato Use in Early Vocal Music” at the Voice Foundation Annual Symposium.
Following her graduate studies, Ms. Wolfe maintained a large private voice studio in San Antonio, as well as an active performance schedule. Many of her students were admitted to the collegiate music programs of their choice, and others successfully transitioned from performing at an amateur level to a professional or semi-professional level. In 2022, Ms. Wolfe was part of the inaugural class of Teaching Artist Voice Fellows at the Classical Music Institute, now known as The Orchestra San Antonio.
Ms. Wolfe was a frequent performer with OPERA San Antonio between 2022-2025, appearing as a chorister in Pagliacci, Roméo et Juliette, and Madama Butterfly. She also regularly performed as a soloist in scenes from mainstage productions at OSA outreach events, and appeared as Kate in The Pirates of Penzance in April 2024.
Since moving back to Illinois, Ms. Wolfe has cultivated a private voice studio in Champaign-Urbana alongside her teaching at Millikin University. She continues to perform regularly and is an avid recitalist with a passion for early music and contemporary art song.
