Dr. Lisa Sadler is thrilled to be returning to her roots at Millikin University! She most recently served as Associate Professor of Music and Head of Vocal Studies and Opera Theatre at Louisiana Tech University where she taught Applied Voice, Opera Workshop, Vocal Diction, and Vocal Pedagogy. She holds a Doctorate of Arts in Music with emphasis in both pedagogy and performance from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Sadler also holds a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) from Millikin University and a Master of Music (Vocal Performance) from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She has performed leading operatic roles and has been featured as a guest artist with orchestras throughout the Midwest and South. In 2005, Dr. Sadler presented her research findings, "The Ability of College Choral/Vocal Teachers to Screen for the Unhealthy Speaking Voice in Singers", at the International Symposium for the Care of the Professional Voice in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Sadler is a past president of the Louisiana Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (N.A.T.S.). She is also a performing artist for New Music on the Bayou, a summer festival “producing professional performances of works by contemporary composers; giving modern music a voice; inspiring communities with fresh ideas about the performing arts.”
