Jana Henry Funderburk is Professor of Design and Coordinator of Design & Production for Millikin University’s School of Theatre & Dance. Jana earned her B.A. from William Jewell College and M.F.A. at The University of Missouri-Kansas City. Jana’s professional costume work includes theatre, dance, television and film. Her research interests include dye techniques of the global majority, textile history, and integrating new technologies into costume processes. She is currently the Commissioner of the Costume Commission for the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and serves on the Board of the Midwest Section of USITT. She is a founding member of the American Theatrical Costume Association (ATCA) and is a member of the Costume Society of America as well as the Dress & Body Association. Jana teaches courses in Costume Design & Technology and Fast Fashion but loves teaching travel immersions. She’s taught courses in England, Ireland, France, Switzerland and Italy. Since 2015 she’s been teaching Designing Disney at Walt Disney World during January immersion session.
