Ivan (Junhong) Jiang has appeared as concerto soloist on prominent venues such as Boston’s Paramount Theater and the Foellinger Great Hall at Krannert Center. Jiang is a frequent prizewinner in competitions, such as the University of Illinois Concerto Competition, Artist Presentation Society Competition, Luminarts Classical Piano Fellowship, the Masters of Piano Concerto Competition from Great Composers Competition Series, and the MAP International Online Music Competition. Currently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in Piano Performance and Literature advised by Timothy Ehlen at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Jiang has been appointed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Vocal Accompanying and Music Theory, as well as serving on the piano faculty at Illinois Community Music Academy. As a versatile pianist, he plays with Sinfonia de Camera (keyboard principal), Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra (keyboard), Champaign-Urbana Symphony (keyboard), University of Illinois Orchestra (soloist), and Boston Conservatory Orchestra (soloist). Additionally, he holds the position of church organist. Jiang's academic trainings include a Bachelor of Music from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee under Max Levinson, a Master of Music and Artist Diploma from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied with the legendary pianist André Watts. He currently serves as the Adjunct Professor at Millikin University and is on the faculty at the Millikin Community Arts Academy (MCAA).
