The School of Art and Creative Media invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Painting & Drawing position beginning August 2026. This position requires the ability, knowledge, and experience to teach beginning and advanced processes/techniques in painting and drawing. 

The ideal candidate will be an artist and educator for whom drawing and painting serves as a major component of their artistic process. Applicants should be practicing artists who are exhibiting their work and are committed to developing and maintaining an ongoing professional artistic career. Candidates with an MA or MFA degree in studio art, demonstrate teaching experience in drawing and painting at the college level are highly preferred. 

Responsibilities include teaching at least two sections of drawing and painting with students earning credit at different levels within the section. Additional responsibilities include supervision and maintenance of the drawing and painting studios, teaching canvas building, purchasing supplies, mentorship of senior BFA exhibitions, and sophomore/senior reviews. Courses will be taught in person using the painting and drawing studios. In addition to an office, this faculty member will be provided with studio space on campus.
