The Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music, the Chicago museum founded by Atkins, was recently named the Best Museum in Chicago by the readers of the Chicago Reader.

The PPIM finished first in the Best Museum category of the alternative newspapers’ annual Best of Chicago 2023 Arts & Culture poll winners, ahead of The Art Institute of Chicago and the National Museum of Mexican Art, as the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music (PPIM) opened in 2021 and includes important artifacts and memorabilia, many from Atkin’s collection, that celebrate post punk and industrial music.
