Millikin University is pleased to welcome actor, writer, comedian and MU alumnus Joel Kim Booster for the 2022 Goodheart Event on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, at Kirkland Fine Arts Center. His performance at Kirkland is a tribute to the University’s celebration of National Coming Out Day.

Named one of The New York Times’ “Queer Young Comics Redefining American Humor,” Booster has found success seemingly everywhere in 2022. In June, he starred in the Hulu rom-com “Fire Island,” which the AV Club called an “instant classic.” Booster’s first hourlong Netflix special “Psychosexual” also premiered in 2022, with Booster exploring his experiences as a gay Asian-American navigating identity, modern sexuality and cultural expectations.
