David Lang's “Little Match Girl Passion” sets to music Danish author Hans Christian Andersen's tragic story of suffering, "The Little Match Girl," using the format of Bach's "Saint Matthew Passion." This poignant work draws our eyes to our own community and asks us to take action. A free-will offering will be collected at the performance to benefit God's Shelter of Love, an emergency women and children's shelter in Decatur. Additional items will be accepted at the doors.
