Hosted by Professor Amanda Pond, Adjunct Instructor of Flute at Millikin University and Principal Flute of the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra, Flute Day is a celebration of all things flute for intermediate to advanced flutists of all ages. Participants will have the opportunity to work on different aspects of flute playing in small and large group settings, visit with flute specialty shop Windy City Flutes, and hear performances by student and faculty ensembles.
The Closing Concert at 4 p.m. in Kaeuper Hall (Perkinson Music Center) is free and open to the public.
Participants can attend the Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble concert “Folklore” at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkland Fine Arts Center.
