What was your favorite part of being a Millikin student? Maybe it was Vespers? Or a late night snack at U-Dogs?
Through regional, on-campus and virtual events the Millikin University Alumni Association Board (MUAAB) gives alums the opportunity to reconnect to the Big Blue and create new memories along the way. The board coordinates and participates in events throughout the year to strengthen the bond between the university and alumni.
The MUAAB plays a large part in Homecoming Weekend by planning events designed to bring alums together. This past fall, we implemented some new events during homecoming weekend including a special “Cookie Party” as well as an alumni Happy Hour at The Winery. We use this special weekend as a way to bring together alums from various different graduation years and walks of life.
In addition, those passionate about career development for recent grads can assist in networking and professional events during both the spring and fall semesters. Part of the mission of the MUAAB is to help students transition into alumni status and stay connected to the university as they do so. These professional development events help grow the Big Blue network and create opportunities for growth.
The board also helps the university recognize deserving alums by coordinating nominations for the prestigious Alumni Awards as well as the Athletic Hall of Fame honorees. These awards honor those who personify the university’s tradition as an environment for excellence.
Starting this spring, we're searching for alumni interested in joining the Alumni Association Board. The mission of the Millikin University Alumni Association Board is to establish and enhance the bond between Millikin alumni and the University. MUAAB members meet online monthly and on Millikin's campus biannually, with members located across the United States and globally. Those interested in applying can email me at lquick2373@gmail.com.
