seating at Kirkland

Is the center handicapped accessible?

  • Seating: Kirkland’s main auditorium has eight Wheel Chair Accessible spaces accompanied by six Handicapped Accessible seats located on the main floor in the House Standard section. Handicapped seating is not available in the balcony. Albert Taylor Theatre and Pipe Dreams Studio also have Handicapped Accessible seating and Wheel Chair Accessible spaces located on the main floor of the auditoriums. To obtain more information on Handicapped seating, please contact the Kirkland Ticket Office at 217.424.6318. Handicapped Accessible seats may only be purchased by handicapped individuals, even if all other seats are sold out.
  • Parking: During performances, Kirkland Fine Arts Center's main lot has 10 handicapped marked spaces. Once these spots have been used, Kirkland is unable to provide a designated location for patrons with disabilities to park. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early if they need these spaces. Additional options include Valet Parking, patron drop-off in front of the Center, and parking across Fairview Avenue in the Westminster handicapped marked spaces. For performances in Albert Taylor Theatre, handicapped patrons should park in the Staley Parking Lot located off of West Main Street and use the Northwest entrance to Shilling Hall. To obtain more information on Handicapped parking, please contact the Kirkland Ticket Office at 217.424.6318.
  • Assisted Listening Devices: Patrons may request Assisted Listening Devices from the Kirkland Ticket Office the day of a performance for events in Kirkland Fine Arts Center. These wireless devices are connected to Kirkland’s main sound system so that patrons with hearing impairments may better listen to the performance.
  • Ordering: We encourage you to visit or call the Kirkland Ticket Office at 217.424.6318 to purchase Handicapped seating. Handicapped seating and accompanying seats are available online.  Please call the Ticket Office if you are unsure about ordering online.

What if I want to pick up my tickets the night of the show?

These tickets can be picked up from the Kirkland Ticket Office during normal business hours prior to the event or on the night of the show. To claim their tickets, patrons must present a photo ID to the Ticket Office Staff. If a patron wishes to claim their tickets the night of the performance, the tickets will be available at a designated location in the Center’s main lobby. Patrons who plan to have another individual retrieve their tickets, must have informed the Ticket Office Staff prior to the event date.
