2024-25 FAFSA Details

On December 31, 2023, the U.S. Department of Education launched the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as part of their soft launch. Before you file the FAFSA, we recommend reviewing the soft launch details at https://studentaid.gov/announcements-events/fafsa-support to learn what you can expect when filling out the form, including what's new for the 2024-25 year.

On January 30, the U.S. Department of Education officially announced additional updates to the FAFSA process, including a delay in the transmission of the student FAFSA information to colleges and universities. Please continue reading below for important updates.

  • FAFSA information is now expected to be provided to schools in mid-March – more than a month later than expected. This delay is partially due to adjustments being made for the latest inflation data. This adjustment ensures that students will benefit from an additional $1.8 billion in federal aid.
  • Once Millikin receives the FAFSA data, our office will complete Financial Aid Awards for both new and current students.
  • Students will not miss out on any funding due to these delays.
  • If you have not already completed your FAFSA, we encourage you to do so now. Submit your FAFSA at fafsa.gov using Millikin's school code: 001724.
