Danielle Alesi is an Assistant Professor of History at Millikin University. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2021 with a Ph.D. in History. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Medieval and Renaissance Studies, a Master of Arts in Renaissance, Reformation, and Early Modern Studies from the University of Birmingham, UK (2014), and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Hartwick College, NY.
Dr. Alesi researches the colonization, food, and the human-animal relationship in the early modern Atlantic World. Her research has been supported by the National Endowment of the Humanities, the Renaissance Society of America, the Newberry Library, the American Historical Association, and the Massachusettes Historical Society.
