Amy Fuller, adjunct instructor in voice, has been teaching at Millikin since 2014. Previous to Amy’s position at Millikin, she was an ‘artist in residence’ at Tongi University in Shanghai, China, where she taught voice lessons, directed opera scenes, and held masterclasses and has taught for the Unit One program, and the Voice Division at the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and Pi Kappa Lambda (Millikin Chapter). She has been adjudicator for numerous performing competitions such as IMEA, Eastern Illinois University Concerto Competition, Miss America Association - Central Illinois Region, and Night of Stars’ in Shanghai, China.

Dr. Fuller received her B.M. degree cum laude in Opera Performance from the Hartt School of Music in West Hartford, CT., and her M.M and D.M.A degree in voice performance and literature with a minor in music history from the University of Illinois. Prior to her Doctoral work, she performed over 30 operatic roles, and has worked with opera companies such as the Metropolitan Opera (NY), Opera Theater of St. Louis (MO), Berkshire Opera (MA), Chicago Opera Theater, Opera Colorado (Denver), Augusta Opera (GA). As a concert performer, and recitalist, she has appeared in music festivals and series throughout the United States, Germany, and Israel, with the Tel Aviv Symphony (Israel), Greater Trenton Symphony (NJ), Hartford Symphony (CT), National Repertory Orchestra (Breckenridge Music Festival, CO), Sinfonia de Camera, The Prairie Ensemble (Champaign), and others. She was a featured soloist in the Dame Myra Hess Recital Series - broadcast simultaneously on Chicago’s WFMT radio in Chicago, the Wagner Society of Washington, at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., and was heard on NPR radio in Stephen Paulus’s world premiere opera, The Woman at Ottowi Crossing. She has received numerous awards and scholarships, and was the recipient of a study grant from the New York Wagner Society, a finalist in the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation Competition (NY), and the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition (Philadelphia). An active sacred music musician, she has performed in church programs, festivals, series, and concerts throughout New England, was cantor/soloist for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford’s Cathedral of St. Joseph in Connecticut.
