Ronald Lee Nickelsen, 76, passed away on Wednesday Nov. 29, 2023, at Vista Medical Center in Waukegan.
Ron retired from the Beach Park School District after 33 years of service. During his professional career, he was a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity of America, The National Band Association, John Philip Sousa Band Award Society, Phi Beta Mu National School Bandmaster Fraternity, the Illinois Education Society, National Education Association, the Music Educators National Conference, and the Retired Teachers Association. Ron was also an avid golfer.
