Richard Heyl Allen, age 85, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2024. He was born on September 10, 1938, in Charleston, Illinois, to the late Edward Briggs Allen and Irma Nelda (Isenburg) Allen.
Dick graduated from Decatur Township High School and pursued higher education at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. He earned his master's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. On June 9, 1962, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Hopp, in Dwight, Illinois.
A dedicated educator, Dick served as a teacher of Science and Math at McArthur High School in Decatur, Illinois. He also had a distinguished career in Industrial Relations with United Airlines, where he dedicated 32 years of his life.
