Clarinet Day is a comprehensive, one-day festival for intermediate to advanced clarinetists ages 14 and above hosted by Dr. David Cook, assistant professor of clarinet and principal clarinet of the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra. This year's guest artist is Elizandro Garcia-Montoya, clarinetist with the Elmhurst Symphony and Chicago Philharmonic. Events include masterclasses with Mr. Garcia-Montoya and Dr. Cook, presentations by Millikin University faculty and students, and a closing recital (open to the public). Registration fees include lunch in the University Commons and a Clarinet Day T-shirt*. All participants will be eligible to win door prizes from vendors including Buffet Crampon, Silverstein Works and The Music Shoppe (subject to change). This program is partially supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Illinois Arts Council Agency, and the Decatur Area Arts Council. Mr. Garcia-Montoya’s appearance is partially supported by The Music Shoppe, Inc.
