Students can elect to complete either the traditional philosophy minor (18 credits), the philosophy pre-law minor (21 credits), or the ethics minor (18 credits). All three minors are described below.

The Philosophy Minor provides students with a highly flexible option for exploring a range of topics and issues in philosophy. This minor has been constructed so that students can readily combine it with nearly any major across the university.

Ethics
Ethics Minor
The Ethics Minor reinforces and extends Millikin’s emphasis on ethical reasoning and issues of social justice. The Ethics Minor is designed to develop widely applicable skills of ethical reasoning and provide a solid foundation, not only in theoretical ethics, but practical and applied ethics. This minor is applicable not only to students who wish to pursue a career in professional philosophy, but also students pursuing medical, legal, or other professional careers where one would benefit from careful thinking about difficult moral issues.

Philosophy Pre-Law
Philosophy Pre-Law Minor
The Philosophy Pre-Law Minor provides students with a quality introduction to key subjects – logic, ethics, legal theory, and legal practice. These subjects are implicated in both the study and practice of law. In addition, the minor develops the crucial skills that prepare students for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), the academic challenges of law school, and eventually the intellectual and ethical dimensions of work in the legal profession. This minor has been constructed so that students can readily combine it with nearly any major across the university. The minor consists of a tightly organized package of courses that would benefit any student considering law school and the legal profession after Millikin, regardless of their major or primary area of academic interest.
