Disclosure of FERPA Rights
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords eligible students certain rights with respect to their education records. An eligible student is a student who is 18 years of age or older or who attends a postsecondary institution. These rights include:
- Be notified of their FERPA rights at least annually
- Inspect and review their records (copies are not provided and phones are not allowed to be present)
- Request an amendment to an incorrect record
- Consent to disclosure of personally identifiable information
- File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education
