Visiting Instructor of Biology

Millikin University invites applicants for the position of Visiting Instructor for the 2024-25 Academic Year.  The Biology Department at Millikin is seeking visiting faculty to:

  • Teach a 100-level course for non-majors, Principles of Sustainability, lecture and lab (meets 4 hours per week)
  • Teach three 200-level anatomy & physiology labs, meeting a total of 6 hours per week
  • Teach a 100-level majors course, Ecology & Evolution Lab, that meets 3 hours per week
  • Support the Biology faculty with lab preparations

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Teach courses as assigned by the department.
  • Maintain regular office hours to assist students. Respond in a timely fashion to student correspondence, including student e-mails.
  • Assess student performance.
  • Maintain a professional attitude with all students, faculty, and staff.

 

Availability to instruct in-person at Millikin University’s Decatur, Illinois, campus is required.
