Claire Taylor holds degrees in Bassoon Performance and Biology from Butler University and currently is pursuing graduate study in Bassoon Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She is active as a freelance musician in Central Illinois and has performed with the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra, Sugar Creek Festival of Symphony & Song, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Danville Symphony Orchestra, and Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana. She is a founding member of the Garni Woodwind Trio (www.garnitrio.com). Also an accomplished jazz musician and woodwind doubler, Professor Taylor was a saxophonist for Celebrity Cruise Lines and has appeared in the pit of numerous Millikin Theater and Little Theater on the Square productions, as well as with the Decatur Big Band, Rock of Ages, Nicholson Jazz Quartet, and Rask Saxophone Quartet. In 2013, she was named one of “20 under 40 Making a Difference in Central Illinois” by the Central Illinois Business Journal.
