The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice is an interdisciplinary department with two highly compatible majors that prepare students for a variety of professional careers in social service, counseling, advocacy, government, public policy, crime and corrections, law and law enforcement, social science research, teaching, or graduate studies. Students may major or minor in Sociology or Criminal Justice, or both. To better prepare students for these careers, all our courses are geared toward critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and working with diverse others.
